Tampaksiring Istana presidential palace is located in Gianyar regency, Bali. Tampaksiring presidential palace is usually used for rest, meeting, or conduct negotiations abroad. Tampaksiring palace built by an architect named RM Soedarsono on the initiative of President Sukarno. Pembangunanya divided into two stages in 1957 and 1963. In 1957 the complex was built Wisma Merdeka and Yudhishthira. Whereas in 1963, completing the second stage of development the State House building, Wisma Bima, and the Conference Building.
Tampaksiring name comes from two words namely "look" which means the palm and "siring" which means crooked. Naming is related closely to the local legend about the king Mayadenawa. Mayadenawa king is a king of magic. Because of his supernatural powers, he becomes arrogant. He then forbade his subjects perform religious ceremonies and worship god. Instead, people should worship him. Then Lord Indra then led pasukanya to attack Mayadenawa.
Long story short Mayadenawa forces can be defeated. Mayadenawa then fled into the woods. To disguise his tracks, he goes way tilt legs. But his efforts in vain. The trail made it known by the troops god Indra. With the remnants kekuatanya Mayadenawa create toxic springs that can kill his pursuers. To overcome the results of the poisoned springs, then the god Indra makes the eyes water as an antidote called Tirta Empul. While the breakout area was later renamed King Mayadenawa Tampaksiring.
At Wisma Merdeka, visitors can see the Bedroom I Bedroom II and President, Family Bedroom, Living Room, Work Room And beautifully appointed. While the Government House is a building that used to entertain guests. Among the Wisma Merdeka and Wisma Negara there are gaps with a depth of approximately 15 meters. So between the two homestead was built a bridge 40 meters long by 1.5 meters wide. The bridge is known as the Friendship Bridge daengan name. Pensions Yudhishthira is a building used as a place to stay for the party presidency or the guest country. While Wisma Bima used as a resting place of the presidential guard or escort guests of the state. The latter is the Conference Center was built for the purpose of cabinet meetings, dinner guests of state, and important conferences such as the Summit (Summit) ASEAN XIV held on May 7 to 8 October 2003 ago.
In addition to homestead, homestead earlier, visitors can also enjoy other attractions in this palace complex of Pura Tirta Empul directly beneath Tampaksiring Palace.
